AE303

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Recently theres been lots of tweaking of 303’s in the empire and anyone who saw us at Whelans last friday would have heard some results.
In amongst the tweaks and the search for some decent emulators I came across the Hobnox Audiotool.

Hobnox Audiotool

The Hobnox Audiotool is an online music workstation application powered by flash. It features 2 tb303’s, an 808, a 909, loads of stomp boxes, the ToneMatrix (Inspired by Yamaha’s Tenori-On) and it even has a record fuction.
Its one of the most impressive uses of flash ive seen for donkeys and I found it extremely addictive. Have fun making your own “Acid tracks“.
Check it out here.

How a montage cost me 200 euro.

Amongst recording, rehearsing, gigging and preparing for the UK release of Unexpected Falls, we’ve also recently been working on an animated video for one of the new tracks we’re recording. We had the idea to possibly include an 80’s style montage in the video. Going through countless video clips I stumbled across this gem…
and then i got completely sidetracked…….

which lead me to this Rolling Stone cover from 1983…….

i think thats a panasonic platinum boombox Darth Vader’s holding. Heres the original ad…

gotta love earth, wind & fire

i love vocoders and talk boxes.
mmm…i’ve always wanted to own a talk-box, and this is where things started to go a bit pear-shaped.

www.ehx.com/products/voice-box(some pretty cool videos up there of the machine in action)
and from there on to thomann with credit card out…
Shit.

You should also check out OnePixelOut’s new blog design. I especially love her RSS & Twitter icons.
