AE303

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Recently theres been lots of tweaking of 303’s in the empire and anyone who saw us at Whelans last friday would have heard some results.
In amongst the tweaks and the search for some decent emulators I came across the Hobnox Audiotool.

Hobnox Audiotool

The Hobnox Audiotool is an online music workstation application powered by flash. It features 2 tb303’s, an 808, a 909, loads of stomp boxes, the ToneMatrix (Inspired by Yamaha’s Tenori-On) and it even has a record fuction.
Its one of the most impressive uses of flash ive seen for donkeys and I found it extremely addictive. Have fun making your own “Acid tracks“.
Check it out here.

Preparing for Our Upcoming Live Shows

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

We may have been a bit quiet of late but I can assure you all that we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes rehearsing and working on music and visuals for our upcoming live shows which kick off on Wednesday the 15th at Antics @ Crawdaddy. I’ve just discovered a great sound/midi reactive visual program called Isadora (Thanks Roberto!). It’s a bit like Max/MSP but with less headache. I’ve been having some fun with it! Enjoy…

Meek FM Typo Synth

Friday, March 6th, 2009

Came across the MEEK FM system whilst looking through new possible typefaces for ALIAS EMPIRE artwork.
“Meek FM is an interpretation of type as sound. Using new software and the M.E.E.K. typographic synthesizer, the musician/designer develops sounds and typographic visuals in parallel.” Genius.
